Village Farms International Reports that Delta, BC Cannabis and Produce Operations Continue as Usual Following Severe Weather Conditions

/PRNewswire/ – VANCOUVER, B.C., Nov. 19, 2021 – Village Farms International, Inc. (“Village Farms” or the “Company”) (NASDAQ: VFF) (TSX: VFF) today announced that its Delta, British Columbia operations of both Pure Sunfarms (cannabis) and Village Farms Fresh (produce) have been unaffected by the recent severe weather in the region and are operating normally. A prior “State of Emergency” declaration for the Delta region was later revoked.

Weather conditions are being closely monitored by the Company, and safeguards have been taken to guarantee that its greenhouse operations in Delta, British Columbia, can continue to function without interruption. Despite the fact that weather-related road closures are posing some challenges to their suppliers and transportation partners, both Pure Sunfarms and Village Farms Fresh have proactively put in place contingency plans to address the evolving situation, and neither expects the weather-related impacts to have a material, if any, impact on fourth quarter revenue at this time.

Village Farms International, Inc. is a company based in the United States.

Village Farms combines decades of experience as a large-scale, Controlled Environment Agriculture-based, vertically integrated supplier for high-value, high-growth plant-based Consumer Packaged Goods opportunities with a strong foundation as a leading fresh produce supplier to grocery and large-format retailers across the United States and Canada, as well as new high-growth opportunities in the cannabis and CBD categories in North America and select international markets.

Pure Sunfarms, the Company’s wholly-owned Canadian subsidiary, is one of the world’s biggest cannabis businesses, the lowest-cost greenhouse grower, and one of Canada’s best-selling brands in the country. ROSE LifeScience, a top third-party cannabis product marketing specialist in the Province of Québec, is also owned by the Company.

Balanced Health Botanicals, a wholly-owned subsidiary in the United States, is one of the country’s top CBD brands and e-commerce platforms. Village Farms intends to enter the US high-THC cannabis market via multiple strategies, leveraging one of the country’s largest greenhouse operations (more than 5.5 million square feet in West Texas), as well as the operational and product expertise gained through Pure Sunfarms’ cannabis success in Canada.

Village Farms is focusing its international efforts on a few fledgling, legal cannabis and CBD businesses that have considerable medium- and long-term potential, with an initial concentration on Asia-Pacific and Europe.
