“Grape Skunk (Good Chemistry) |” is a line of skunky chems made by Good Chemistry and is a true skunky hybrid, meaning it is a cross between Chemdog’s Skunk #1 and Grapefruit. This is a true skunk hybrid, meaning it is a cross between Chemdog’s Skunk #1 and Grapefruit. It is made with the same genetics as the original Chemdog’s Skunk #1 strain, but with a different genetics from Grapefruit. It has a Skunky flavor and aroma that is different from most skunky strains, with a slight grapefruit and OG Kush taste. It is not as harsh as most other skunky strains and has a sweet pine flavor that comes

Oh, my God. What a fucking trip. After almost three weeks in hotels and motels, you are very happy to be home again. The road was beautiful, dangerous, even – or especially – when it seemed barren, flat and endless. This was not just a visit, but a quest, which had two goals: to visit the famous Jungle Boys in Los Angeles and Good Chemistry in Colorado, the people who developed the excellent STATS guide to determining the quality of cannabis, which I highly recommend you read at your leisure. As a tourist, smoked flowers can be problematic, and for someone who had over 6,000 miles to go, the unpredictability of food ruled out even these insubstantial treats. I usually used concentrates on the trip, but for Good Chemistry I made an exception and took eighths of Critical Kush and Grape Skunk. GET YOUR MEDICAL MARIJUANA CARD! The last time we saw our intrepid gentleman, he narrowly escaped arrest, losing all his composure. He was now driving at full speed through miles of pristine Kansas forest, desperately waiting for a sign that he was approaching the sacred Colorado border. I wanted a room, caviar and a bottle of wine, in that order exactly. Exclaiming joyfully, I crossed the Promised Land a little before ten in the evening and decided to stop at the first town I saw. It turned out to be Burlington, and I was very disappointed to learn that there was no clinic there until I got closer to Denver, two hours away, and that was midnight. Also, all the liquor stores in this town were closed, so to calm my nerves, I stopped for a beer at a gas station. Rooms at Burlington Stay Inn…. I can’t recommend it. The place was filthy and the registration form said there was an early departure fee, which is totally disgusting. When I asked the man behind the counter, I was told it wasn’t for me, it was for the youngsters, wink, wink, wink. Ugh. I don’t think there were any young people in this town, at least not with money to spend on a motel room. Spending the night in a trucker’s den was a tactical error. word-image-10403 Grapevine skunk I went to Good Chemistry in Aurora in the morning instead of driving to downtown Denver. The store itself was nice, spacious, maybe a little dark but not so dark as to obstruct the view of the merchandise, and the staff was polite. I ended up with a few grams of concentrate, some Chronic Creations Sour Amnesia Shatter and Viola Lemon Skunk Live Resin, as well as some Critical Kush and Grape Skunk flowers and some Firestarter Caviar Prerolls. In the first pharmacy I visit on my trip, my eyes are always bigger than my appetite. The Firestarters were disappointing – I think they contained three quarters of a gram of high quality concentrate, but the potency seemed flimsy to me. Sour Amnesia Shatter was a decent flavor, not really spicy, but reasonably priced and strong. Lemon Skunk’s live resin was excellent, full of wonderfully large crystals that kids call diamonds. I was in a Culta store in Baltimore recently and diamonds cost $160 an ounce.  While they are a decent product, the quality is a little less than the $40/gram viola diamonds I bought at Good Chemistry. For those playing at home, that’s a 400% price increase. whether medical marijuana patients in Maryland have to pay for the drug, as opposed to buyers of recreational marijuana in Denver. Eeeeee. word-image-10404 I really liked the Viola resin, but the Good Chemistry flower was my priority for the exam, so I found a motel where smoking was allowed and got to work. In the end, it’s the Knights Inn in Aurora, because after a potluck for which I had driven 1500 miles, I didn’t want to go any further. I had to do it. Even in retrospect, staying in that filthy, disgusting motel was a bad decision and you should avoid it at all costs. In a heightened state of paranoia, I had forgotten that hotels in Denver, even the good ones, don’t usually check their guests’ marijuana use, and I might as well have stayed in town. word-image-10405 Critical Kush So how does the Flower of Good Chemistry meet its own quality guidelines? Not bad, not bad. Both flowers have a firm structure and a good trichome coverage. The Critical Kush had a sweet nose and mild flavor, distinctly different from the spicy CK flavor I fell in love with in medical dispensaries in DC (grown by Liberty/Holistic Remedies), but the main effect I use this indica for – a good night’s sleep – worked perfectly. I was very happy with this flower. The Grape Skunk hybrid, on the other hand, smelled like a mixture of gas (good) and hay (bad). It was rather bland and lacked a bit of power. My friend and I slipped away to the Grandoozy festival, which included Young the Giant and the queen of fairies herself, Florence + The Machine !!!!. They were the very first band on my list to see, and I didn’t even know they were playing until I arrived in Denver. I wasn’t able to get tickets to their concert Saturday in Washington, but the lucky ones who do have them will be overjoyed. I won’t spoil the experience for you, but I’ll tell you right now, if you want a front row seat, it’s worth it, go ahead. And if anyone has a free ticket, I’d love to go again. Sigh. They were great. Starting with the classic Only If For a Night, we heard my favorite singles from their last album How Big, How Blue, How Beautiful, a couple of singles from the new album (Hunger and South London Forever) as well as Shake It Off and a dubstep-free version of Calvin Harris’ collaborative song Sweet Nothing that, I’m not afraid to say, brought tears to Gentleman’s eyes. After all, I’m only human, and which of you can take on the machine? Through it all, Grape Skunk has kept my spirits up, my mood positive and open, and anxiety free. I didn’t steam it but it did the job, I’m not complaining. Overall, I would have liked to see more of Good Chemistry than I got – the Critical Kush flavor profile should have been stronger, the Grape Skunk better, but they did it well enough that Gentleman felt like the STATS Guide standards were, if not met, at least hung somewhere prominent in the building. Just looking at the concentrate, the shard from Chronic Creations met my expectations and the Viola exceeded them. I would definitely recommend Good Chemistry’s dispensaries, though I wouldn’t take the Firestarter Prerolls next time.
